For the August 2025 Bingo over at
fandom10in30. These challenges are so much fun to do and a great way to warm up my currently pretty atrophied graphic design muscles. :D
CW: bright contrasts, looping decorative animation, profanity, my yammering

And feast your eyes on my stupid HTML bingo sheet!
It’s so unnecessary but I could not help myself. :'D
summit
Fandom: Isola (Comic)
Me these past 5 years waiting for Volume 3. I wanted to make a spiral pattern pixel frame for this one at first, but I became way to crowded with the butterflies, so I went for super basic instead.
animal
Fandom: ASoIaF/Game of Thrones/my personal cult of Ramsay Bolton
It’s my favorite guy! I’m very impressed with how long I held out on making an icon of him, but I could not let “animal” pass me by without finally acknowledging the mad dog of the Dreadfort himself. Rest in pieces, king, they can never take your plot armor from you in my mind. And until Wind of Winter is out you’re canonically alive anyways!11
I think I might have gone too muted on this one, but I wasn’t a fan of my more vibrant versions. The dog overlay gets a bit lost with how much is going on, but I’m trying to get comfortable with being less minimalist with my graphics. I’ll probably be making a visit to
iconcrit with this one some time soon.

senior citizen
Fandom: Vicious
This was one of the row-deciding prompts, because I just had to honor the old man yaoi. I made like five versions of this and am not happy with any of them, but this one was the closest I got to my vision before I had to finally admit defeat. I’ll definitely take this to iconcrit, too.
The quote is from the opening song of this show, which is the perfect song for these two. (Musically I prefer the Gloria Gaynor original, though.) Get yourself a partner who will exchange insults with you like these two do.

kiss
Fandom: Ameiro Paradox
Last year, the Assorted Pack extra collection came out in a language I can read without anyone telling me, but thankfully I came across it looking for high quality scans to use for this project. Sorry to my neighbors for literally going “Squee!!” out loud in the middle of the night, ugh. I thought this crop had a nice simple light/dark contrast in it, and I added on of my favorite eye-searing color combos to it since Onoe and Kaburagi are such an opposites-attract couple.
watermelon
Fandom: Nyaa – My Feline Fatale (18+)
I struggled so much with this prompt it wasn’t even funny. I was really trying to avoid having a ton of 2D canons in this fill, but I was going through my folders looking for material and remembered this lovely… uh… “story”. (Cards on the table, it’s BL hentai. Like I said, I had a tough time with the a literal reading of the prompt, lol.) Nyaa has a cool character design and faceless boyfriend Mob-kun is very cute, so I put together this watermelon-colored tribute. The background says “Mob-kun ❤️”.

youth
Fandom: Wild Bill
“It’s a choice. You might think you’re only young but you ain’t. You’re a man in my eyes and you gotta make a choice.”
First icon for this round! I’d had this cap sitting around for a while and was glad to be able to finally use it for a prompt that could touch on the themes of recklessness, inexperience, and innocence of youth in this scene. Gah, I really love this movie, and this moment is one of my favorites. Bill for #1 Dad.
watermelon
Fandom: Misfits
It’s #MelonFucker, not #1 Melon Fucker, although Simon is of course #1 melon fucker to me as well. After the previous melon took me forever to come up with, this one just popped into my head at 4 AM the night after. My Iwan Rheon filmography experience saves the day once again.
I’m very unhappy with how this turned out—it looked fine at one point and then I messed it up somehow, and I don’t know when and where—so this will be definitely making an appearance in iconcrit as well.

eight
Fandom: Eight (Manga)
I immediately knew I had to pick a row that included this prompt, because Eight was one of the first manga I read as a tween and it stuck with me, mostly for its drop-dead gorgeous and stylish art. By the way, the story revolves around skateboarding, and the main character (pictured here) is called Eito Hachiya—I’m not kidding. G8 name 4 a sk8er, m8.
warm colours
Fandom: Free! Iwatobi Swim Club
One of my favorite Reigisa illustrations. It gives off the vibe of a comfortable post-party hangout and its composition allowed me to play around with type and layering a bit more. I wanted to do a different layout at first, but then I remembered I’d recently installed a new neon font (Neonderthaw) and unsurprisingly got distracted.

happiness
Fandom: If My Favorite Pop Idol Made It to the Budokan, I Would Die
This was originally my fill for Summit, but I wasn’t sure if I was stretching the prompt too much—Maina and her group succeeding being a metaphorical summit for both the idols and Maina’s die-hard fan Eripiyo—so I swapped her here. The illustration is a part of the character sheet for the anime, which I didn’t even know existed until I was looking for high quality cover scans. I’m such a fake OshiBudo fan smh.

Date: 2025-08-31 10:00 (UTC)Thank you! I think I might have gotten into icon making mainly because I like looking at icon tables and wanted excuses to make my own. 😆
When you were talking about your icons for the
icontalking blocking activity I was literally thinking about my bingo icons, like, “this sounds familiar…” :'D
